The Digital Tab Lab is a time-bound program running until 2026, designed to integrate digital learning and empower students in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs). It provides equitable access to technology that enhances classroom engagement and nurtures digital agency among Girls and educators alike.
The program focuses on making digital learning sustainable and inclusive — addressing the challenges and disparities of the digital world to ensure lasting benefit for students, wardens, principals, and the wider school community. Its systemic transformation goals are anchored in sustainability: building strong infrastructure, planned budgeting, adequate resourcing, capacity-building, and responsive training. Over three years, these pillars will ensure the program’s continuity, scalability, and long-term relevance beyond 2026.
The goal of the Tab Lab Program is to:
- Increase Student Engagement: Provide an engaging, tech-supported learning environment that promotes active participation and improves student performance.
- Enhance Educational Outcomes: Use digital tools to provide personalized learning, remedial education.
- Create a Balanced Digital Environment: Strike a balance between technology use for education and limiting exposure to harmful digital content or excessive screen time.
- Ensure Program Sustainability: Develop a self-sustaining model for the program that integrates technology into the school’s routine and educational structure, with adequate training for staff and proper resource allocation.
- Foster Digital Responsibility: Encourage responsible digital behavior among students by educating them about safe and productive online habits.
