Launched in 2023, our Karnataka program expands Saheli Ki Udaan to 138 KGBVs across the state — co-created with the government, adapted for local needs, and designed for long-term systemic transformation.
This new chapter, Gelathiyerondige Haarona meaning “Let’s walk together, sisters” captures the spirit of collective growth and dignity. After a successful pilot in Kolar and Mysuru districts, the Government of Karnataka invited us to scale. Today, we’re reaching 221 KGBVs under a formal MoU, evolving the Saheli Ki Udaan model to reflect local languages, cultures, and contexts.
Here too, Girls strengthen their voice and confidence through foundational English and critical skills blending classroom sessions, tablet-based learning, and community touchpoints. Wardens and Parents are trained to lead with empathy and focus on well-being, while a randomized controlled trial with J-PAL and Echidna Giving is underway to measure long-term impact and evidence of change.

IVRS Program in Karnataka
The IVRS program in Karnataka engages parents of students from Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) and government officials across the state, with the aim of deepening their involvement in Girls’ education and development. Launched in 2024, the program is structured around 5 thematic modules, each addressing critical aspects of learning, well-being, and parental participation.
